What exactly does Pearltech Consulting do?
Through partnering with Arise Virtual Solutions, our company has access to numerous remote openings. We then provide agents with the opportunity to work from home taking inbound customer service calls for fortune 500 companies.
If I sign up with Pearltech Consulting, am I considered an employee?
No, you are considered an independent contractor and will receive a 1099 statement to file your taxes (provided you make at least $600 for the year).

Does Pearltech Consulting take out taxes on my behalf?
No we do not, as an independent contractor you will be required to pay your taxes directly to the IRS based on the designated schedule. Talk to a tax specialist for details.
What are the minimum requirements for this opportunity?
-At least 18 years old
-Able to pass a background check, and in some cases a drug test
-Resident of the United States (except California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Wisconsin)
-Able to provide a noise free environment
-Have a computer or laptop that meets the minimum equipment requirements
-Able to provide a hard wired internet connection while servicing, as WiFi is not allowed

How will I acquire the skills necessary for a client opportunity?Certification courses are offered virtually with a live instructor. Certification courses also include self-pace work and assessments to ensure you are ready for servicing.
Do I have to obtain certifications to access client opportunities?
You do not have to be certified to view available openings, but you do have to be certified to be able to work for a client opportunity and generate income
Are the certification courses free?
The certification courses are not offered free of charge by Arise, they can vary between $9.99 and $249. However, Pearltech Consulting offers promotions from time to time that will help to subsidize or completely offset these fees for qualified candidates.
How long do certification courses last?
Certification courses typically last anywhere from 10 business days to about 2 weeks, depending on the complexity of the program. During this time, you will be expected to select a class time from the options provided and attend the live virtual session every business day (no holidays and weekends) until the class is complete. In-class time typical spans 2-4hrs each day.
Am I paid for the time I spend taking the certification classes?
As contractors we are not direct employees of the clients we service therefore we are not allotted any benefits such as: paid training, healthcare, paid vacations, paid leave (of any kind) or insurance (of any kind). You are personally responsibly for your own benefits.
Does one have to attend the entire class time to move forward with the certification?
Yes. 100 percent attendance is encouraged.Agents can be dropped with no refund missing class.
Are agents responsible for their own background and drug test fees?
The cost of the initial background check to join the Arise network and access the network of Fortune 500 clients is $9.99, and is the agent’s responsibility.The drug test is included in the certification price of each course that an agent chooses to participate in.
What happens with regard to a drug test when an agent has a prescription for the drug?
They should let them know on the paperwork they completed for the drug test if they are on any medications. They should let the lab attendant know upfront and bring prescriptions with them, and then stay in direct contact with First Advantage throughout the process.
Which companies will my business have the opportunity to service?
We represent a variety of Fortune 500 companies such as major bookstores, major pharmacies, cable companies, retail energy providers, cruise lines, major resorts, high end/luxury department stores, to name a few. Visit our current openings or log into your profile to see the latest openings.
Is this opportunity a job?
It is not a job.It can be best explained as a business opportunity where you, as an agent, will provide your independent contractor (1099) services to the Arise clients, through Pearltech Consulting.
Can I enroll in another client opportunity if I am already enrolled in one?
This is possible as long as the class times are not in conflict.
If you complete a statement of work(SOW)/contract and the client offers you a new one to continue but you are not able to for various reasons, what happens when you come back the next cycle? Do you have to pay again at that time and go through full training?
If your SOW ends, and 30 days have passed since you last serviced, you have to start all over again, unless the client is offering a refresher course.
Are there specific times during the day when new opportunities are posted on the portal?
You just have to keep checking the portal.There is no specific time when opportunities are posted.
Can you retake a failed language assessment?
You will have to wait 30 days to retake it.
Can I still work if I go out of town?
If you are traveling to one of the places that Arise services and you have your hardwired internet, you can service. However, if your client requires a landline phone, you may have to change the number on your profile so that you can use a temporary landline phone wherever you are traveling to.
If you fail an assessment, can you try again for the same class?
There is a 30 day waiting period before you can try again.
Are these positions long term?
This depends on the client you are servicing. Some clients are seasonal.Additionally, these are independent contractor opportunities, so they cannot really be described as long-term.
When it comes to hours, can I pick a shift, or just log on and off whenever I am ready?
You have to select an interval or a shift. You cannot log on and off arbitrarily. You have to work when you are scheduled. However, you have the freedom to set your own schedule based on the client's hours of operation.
What’s the longest time a CSP (Customer Service Professional) has ever contracted for one client?
We’ve personally heard testimonies of CSPs who have provided excellent customer support for one client as longs as 6 years or better.
How many hours am I able to work for a client?
Hours available can vary per client. Each client has a minimum hour requirement that you agree to meet weekly (before you enroll in a client course you’ll see the minimum hour requirements in the information of that client). Usually the minimum hour requirement is between 15-20 hours a week. Full-Time hours are available for many clients.
Can I really choose my own hours?
Yes. Each client does have a minimum hour per-week requirement but how you schedule for those hours Monday-Sunday is up to you (some clients may have certain days and holidays specified with minimum service requirement).
Why am I required to cover the cost of equipment, client certification/training and enrollment?
You are starting a contracting business. As a contractor you are not a direct employee of the clients you are servicing, but you are investing in the opportunity to choose your own schedule and provide excellent service to clients seeking independent contractors to provide service for their businesses. In return those same clients offer certification courses so that you can learn more about their business, consumers and products for the opportunity to service for that client once you pass the course.
What can cause me to fail the background check?
The following situations may cause a background check to fail:
Felony or certain misdemeanor convictions
Pled guilty, no contest, deferred or probation before judgment, or had adjudication withheld
Disposition of No Contest/ nolo contendre on felony or certain misdemeanor charges
Record of pending or outstanding warrants
Can I provide customer support for more than one client?
As a contractor you have the opportunity upon completion of certification/training to provide customer support for as many clients as you can handle within policy. We don’t recommend contracting for more that 2 clients at a time.
Once I am enrolled who will I contact with questions I may have about choosing a client, certification/training, hours and payment?
We here at Pearltech Consulting, LLC offer support to start-ups for the first 30 days of you being active on the platform. We will be your first point of contact with question you may have. We will also provide helpful information on how to access client information and contacting support on the network upon enrollment.
What role does the IBO (Independent Business Owner) play in my hiring?
You are being hired as a sub-contractor when you choose to work through a Call Center already contracting on the Arise Virtual Network. It is through their business entity that you are able to service the clients of your choosing. It’s their responsibility to ensure that you meet all servicing requirement for the clients you’ve been qualified to service.
How am I paid for my time worked?
For those of you starting your contracting business, you’ll be paid via Direct Deposit twice a month for all revenue earned from the 1-15th of the month and the 16-End of month. You’ll have access to the Payroll Calendar once you are certified.
If you are contracting through another Call Center, please consult your IBO for payroll details.
What type of support is available once I begin providing customer support for a client?
Each client has their own set of policies, procedures, knowledge systems, chat support and Quality Assurance QA facilitators that will assist you in providing excellent customer support. During training you will learn all you’ll need to know about each client’s servicing systems and tools.
What are the fees associated with becoming an Independent Contractor at Pearltech Consulting?
As an Independent Contractor, your business will incur a Pearltech Consulting administrative fee of $25 per pay period. This will cover the support we provide to you in order to help your business be successful. You will also be responsible for an Arise administrative fee of $19.75 per pay period, which covers your continued use of the Arise platform to provide your access to client opportunities.
What equipment will I need for this work from home opportunity?
Minimum Equipment Requirements:
1. Landline Phone-with no special features such as call waiting, fax or voicemail-this ensures that as you’re providing customer service to our clients you’re not interrupted by such features.(required)
Note: Cell Phones, Magic Jack, Google Voice or any other VOIP services are not permitted.
2. High Speed Broadband Internet (Cable or DSL) (required)
Note: During client training and servicing you must be hard-wired via ethernet cable from your Cable or DSL modem to your computer-wireless is not permitted.
3. Windows 8 or Windows 8 (required)
4. USB Headset with Microphone (needed for Certification) Logitech, Plantronics, Microsoft, or similar brands recommended.
5. Hard-wired Telephone and headset (needed for Production) Plantronics T10 or similar recommended.
